Most of the outings that Chandlers Ford u3a arranges are done so by the Out & About, Evergreens, Strollers and Countryside Walks Groups, but from time to time UK Day trips and short Holiday Breaks (both UK & Overseas) are also offered by the Out and About Group.
Limited Mobility and Coach Trips
Our coach trips are undertaken using conventional coaches therefore any member with a mobility problem should discuss their participation in such circumstances with the Group Leader in advance of the trip. If the Group Leader is seriously concerned for the well-being of a particular member or the potential for injury and well-being of others on the trip, then the Group Leader can preclude the member up until the point of departure. The Group Leader in such situations will have the full support of the Committee. Coach drivers can no longer give any assistance to passengers as they have done in the past and members may not risk their health assisting others.
Occasionally in honour of special occasions an outing is offered to all members on a first come first served basis.
Please note that outings are only available to members of Chandlers Ford u3a. If a car is shared then its customary for passengers to contribute as follows : calculate the total cost of petrol at a nominal 40 pence per mile and divide by the number of occupants - including the driver. For a journey of 10 miles with 4 members in the car, each member should contribute £1.
To take part in any of the groups above you need to apply to join that group by logging into the website using your membership number and personal password and clicking on the particular group you wish to join. The group contact/leader will accept your request.
