Proficient players are welcome for sociable bridge.

We play mainly rubber bridge adopting the Standard English Modern Acol System (2014) published by the English Bridge Union. However when we have groups of of 5-7 we score individually using duplicate methods.

Our members have a good basic knowledge of the game but we are happy to help less confident players. 

At the beginning of the afternoon we draw cards for partners and this gives us all a chance to play with different members of the group. We have a relaxed approach to playing bridge and hands are often discussed to clarify a bidding system or strategy of play. We meet weekly on a Tuesday afternoon in each others’ homes so this does restrict our numbers and necessitates we remain a relatively small group.
