Proficient players are welcome for sociable bridge and some tuition is available separately for beginners/refreshers on request.

We play mainly rubber bridge adopting the Standard English Modern Acol System (2014) published by the English Bridge Union. Our members are of varying experience and help is available for less confident players. At the beginning of the afternoon we draw cards for partners and this gives us all a chance to play with different members of the group. We have a relaxed approach to playing bridge and hands are often discussed to clarify a bidding system or strategy of play. We meet weekly on a Tuesday afternoon in each others’ homes so this does restrict our numbers and necessitates we remain a relatively small group.

After meeting throughout the pandemic on Zoom with pre-arranged hands we are now back to meeting face to face in each others homes.
